Guided by a humanistic and behavioral perspective in my therapeutic relationships, I favor and nurture an eclectic approach where I take and combine elements of favored models of therapy. The models of therapy preferred include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Impact Therapy and Mindful Therapy.
COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY
CBT suggests that problems are often of our own making. It’s not the situation itself that makes us unhappy, but how we interpret (Cognitive), and react (Behavior) to that particular event that causes us psychological distress. CBT can help you to change unhelpful aspects of how you think (“Cognitive”) and what you do (“Behavior”).
Impact Therapy is a multi-sensory approach which recognizes that change or impact comes from not only verbal, but also visual and kinesthetic exchanges. This multisensory approach to counseling is a form of brief therapy that emphasizes making counseling sessions clear, concrete and thought provoking.
Our philosophy is that health and healing involve the integration of Mind, Body and Spirit and that utilizing all three will ultimately lead to greater growth and faster healing; we believe that problems and symptoms can be guides to our ultimate growth, healing and recovery.
If you fully and completely engage in the therapeutic process of Therapy, the gained benefits are endless.
